These pagers and flashing lights (also called beacons) may be required if:
1) you have difficulty hearing your telecare alarm, smoke alarm, telephone or doorbell.
2) A relative lives with you and wishes to be notified of an alarm activation before the monitoring centre is notified. In this instance a pager could alert them that an alarm has been triggered while they are in another part of the house, garden, garage or shed.
3) This pager arrangement could also be used by a carer. The pager could alert them that an alarm has been triggered, whilst they are in another part of the building or garden, so that they can take appropriate action.
4) Vibrating pillow alert pads enable you to be discretely alerted whilst in bed.
