The Recaro Sport HERO Reha is a special needs car seat designed to provide postural support for children with a variety of seating needs whilst maintaining the highest safety standards expected from car seats. The car seat is suited for smaller/lighter children who weigh between 9 and 36kg. The seat comes as standard with various postural accessories, including lateral trunk supports, side supports and head supports, to ensure your child is both comfortable and properly supported. The back of the seat is fitted with an integrated threefold, height-adjustable back/headrest, allowing the seat to grow with your child. The seat also comes as standard with a 5 point positioning harness which, unlike high-street car seats, does not need to be removed as your child moves up the car seat classes. The 5 point positioning harness offers a multitude of benefits including enhanced safety protection by making it harder for children to slip, aiding postural support and reducing the potential for dangerous situations by helping prevent the child from simply taking off the seat belt and escaping the car seat. Further care has been taken to ensure your childÂÂ's safety with the inclusion of lateral energy absorbers which reduce forces in case of a side impact. Lastly the HERO special needs car seat comes as standard with an integrated seat tilt-in-space (for use by children of ECE group I only) which can be positioned in either the rest or sleep position to ensure maximum comfort for your little one. An optional swivel base is available for the car seat enabling an effortless transition to and from vehicles. This swivel base is secured to the car by ISOFIX fixings, meaning it can be used in any vehicle with ISOFIX points and does not have to permanently remain in one car. Please note that the turning plate cannot be used until the child is 15kg. This is due to government legislation which states that for all class 1 children the seat belt must be positioned behind the car seat. When securing your special needs car seat into your vehicle it is most important that you familiarise yourself with the correct fixing instructions, appropriate to your vehicle, before use. The car seat is made from a mixture of materials, including polystyrene, polyurethane, and polypropylene, making it both sturdy and durable as well as providing extra shock absorption in case of impact. The seat cover is made of a tough but soft suede feel material, which is fire retardant according to British standards. The seat cover is removable and machine washable. Other optional accessories are available for the HERO, for example, if your child needs to be sat at an angle, a seat wedge, which can be placed underneath the seat to change the angle, is available.
