The new lightweight Snugseat Snappi combines the familiar principles of the Snugseat Modular design with the new lightweight Aluminium Snappi Chassis, thus making this well known seating system even more attractive and user friendly. The Snugseat postural control system is designed to enhance the sitting position of disabled babies and children with postural problems. It is the result of intensive research by biomedical and rehabilitation engineers and consultation with paediatric occupational therapists and parents. It is particularly beneficial to those children who require lateral trunk, pelvic, lumber and head support. The unique modular design means it can be easily adapted, by making use of the extensive range of adjustable pads, to the growing child's changing dimensions and needs. The Snugseat Snappi is currently available in two sizes (Nursery and Junior), ensuring that the correct seat is selected for the child's body weight and frame size. It is also available in rearward (when your child is facing you) and is most commonly used by parents of very young children who need to see their baby at all times. There is a wide range of accessories available for the Snugseat to help with those day-to-day requirements. The Snappi wheelbase is manufactured from high-grade aluminium which combines strength and durability whilst offering a lightweight, easily foldable frame suitable for everyday use. Height adjustable push handles are fitted as standard for the comfort and convenience of the attendant. The high quality wheels and castors ensure that this versatile wheelbase is easily manoeuvred around town. The unique, centre mounted gas strut, tilt in space facility is easily operated by the finger lever, mounted on the push handles and offers an exceptionally high level of seat tilt of between 0 and 40 degrees. There are no fixed positions for the tilt in space facility and the special slow release gas strut ensures the comfort of the disabled child at all times. The quick-release interface allows the seats to be mounted upon, and removed from, the chassis with ease. The Snappi interface incorporates increased safety features, which include an innovative spring loaded catch to prevent little brothers, sisters or other children from fiddling with the release lever and accidentally releasing the interface, a point which can often be overlooked. The interface has hard-wearing stainless steel mounting points to prevent wear and a further safety mechanism to ensure the seat can only be put on the chassis correctly. The Snugseat Snappi has been successfully crash tested according to ISO7176/19 for impact resistance, ensuring safe transportation of the occupant in specially adapted vehicles.
