The StrongBack self-propel and attendant-controlled wheelchairs are award-winning, Swiss-designed products that incorporate a contoured backrest for effective lumbar support. Their sculpted backrest mould around the natural curvature of the spine so that better postural positioning can be achieved with reduced slumping or slouching. Building on the popularity of the attendant-controlled version, the StrongBack self-propel provides greater postural support and a healthier seated position for many wheelchair users without the need for complex adjustments. Its 7.9kg lightweight frame ensures lifting and carrying is strain-free and the 24Â'Â' wheels are quick release. When folded the StrongBack is compact for straightforward storage enhanced by reversable leg rests. This innovative wheelchair has a remarkably high user weight of 135kg and is available in 40cm and 45cm seat widths. The inclusion of attendant handles and brakes provides optional attendant propulsion by carers and both StrongBacks are compatible with all TGA wheelchair powerpacks.
