New survey reports on underuse of AT in adult social care

The County Councils Network in England and telecare technology provider Tunstall have published a report on the role assistive technology currently plays in adult social care services across the country. It finds that three quarters of local authorities believe that the benefits of assistive technology are being only partially realised in their area. One of the recommendations that the report makes is to ‘facilitate improved education and training for social care professionals to ensure they are confident in utilising Assistive Technology within their role’.
