Working together with independent living professionals

For over fifty years the Living Made Easy (formerly DLF) has worked to support the wide range of professionals who enable older and disabled people to maintain their independence. From impartial information and advice about the wide range of products and supplier of assistive technology to training and tools to support the selection and provision of solutions to individuals Living Made Easy has been working to practically support frontline staff.

We are passionate about raising standards and enabling older and disabled people to get quick and safe access to the solutions that can enable them to live the lives they choose. Our free public information and advice enables people to make informed choices about daily living equipment - ‘self-assessing’ whenever possible - but we also take care to direct people to seek independent professional advice when appropriate.

As leaders in the development of the trusted assessor framework we see the way that this role can enable faster provision of solutions to many individuals as part of service delivery and that is why we continue to prioritise development of our programmes in this field.

We work collaboratively with professional bodies, our Trusted Assessor and AskSARA programmes were cited in RCOT’s important 2019 policy document ‘Adaptations without Delay’, Foundations advise us on the promotion of DFGs; NAEP, TSA, UK Telehealthcare and a wide range of trade and professional bodies collaborate with us on ongoing service development.

Factsheets

We offer a range of Factsheets that provide in-depth advice on specialist areas relating to daily living aids and adaptations. One of a range of resources we provide free to professionals to help them advise the public. The factsheets use diagrams and clear language to describe equipment and are an excellent way to provide information for those new to assistive technologies.
