Working together with independent living professionals

For over fifty years the Living Made Easy (formerly DLF) has worked to support the wide range of professionals who enable older and disabled people to maintain their independence. From impartial information and advice about the wide range of products and supplier of assistive technology to training and tools to support the selection and provision of solutions to individuals Living Made Easy has been working to practically support frontline staff.

We are passionate about raising standards and enabling older and disabled people to get quick and safe access to the solutions that can enable them to live the lives they choose. Our free public information and advice enables people to make informed choices about daily living equipment - ‘self-assessing’ whenever possible - but we also take care to direct people to seek independent professional advice when appropriate.

As leaders in the development of the trusted assessor framework we see the way that this role can enable faster provision of solutions to many individuals as part of service delivery and that is why we continue to prioritise development of our programmes in this field.

We work collaboratively with professional bodies, our Trusted Assessor and AskSARA programmes were cited in RCOT’s important 2019 policy document ‘Adaptations without Delay’, Foundations advise us on the promotion of DFGs; NAEP, TSA, UK Telehealthcare and a wide range of trade and professional bodies collaborate with us on ongoing service development.

With its origins in the ubiquitous Hamilton Index, LME-Data is the technical version of our information and advice. Designed to support safe selection and justification of equipment it enables you to research and compare options and support your case for the selection of specific makes and models of equipment.

With more than twenty years of experience of developing and delivering practical hands-on training we are a great choice. We offer a wide portfolio of courses at a variety of levels, which are provided both UK-wide and online.
We publish a calendar of open courses and also offer a tailored solution to ensure that courses are adapted to the organisation’s needs.
Take a look at our current portfolio and contact us if you do not see what you need.

We offer a range of Factsheets that provide in-depth advice on specialist areas relating to daily living aids and adaptations. One of a range of resources we provide free to professionals to help them advise the public. The factsheets use diagrams and clear language to describe equipment and are an excellent way to provide information for those new to assistive technologies.
