Communication apps and software

This section includes Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) apps and software that can be used by an individual to communicate with others. These methods may include an alternative to speech or supplement speech. Some apps and software may be designed for use with a dedicated AAC device or for non-dedicated devices such as PCs and some tablets.

Apps and software with spoken output read out what has been inputted.

Apps and software that plays back pre-recorded speech when an icon button is selected on your mobile or tablet device's touch screen. Most allow you to add your own photos as buttons and pair these with speech you record onto your device. Pre-recorded messages can be chosen from a list.
