Speechbubble's description:
Although the MegaBee is not a 'speech-output' communication aid, it's included here as it represents a lower-tech alternative to eye-gaze communication aids such as the Tobii C12. It uses eye movement and blinking as the method to select letters, which are displayed on the integral screen.
Letter selection is achieved 'colour encoding': looking at the letter and blinking, then looking at the block which is the same colour as the selected letter. For example the letter 'D' would be selected by looking first at the blue block where the letter K is located and blinking (the enabler then presses the blue button and the 'accept' button), then, as the letter 'D' is red, the user looks at the red block and blinks (the enabler presses the red button and the letter 'D' appears on the screen).
