Solid fixed rail for fitting to side of an adjustable bed, providing sturdy support when getting into and out of bed, and when adjusting position in bed. The Side Grab Rail / Bed Lever consists of a metal U-shape which is inverted and attached to the side of a bed, typically providing support for an individual to pull against in order to swing themselves round from a lying / sitting up in bed position, to one whereby they are sat on the side of the bed with their legs down to the floor, and also to pull against / lean on while moving into a standing position. The Side Grab Rail attaches to a bedside by means of a secure bolt-through clamp-plate fixing kit. The overall height of the metal inverted U-shape that forms the ORWOOD Side Grab Rail is 27" (69cm). Typical fixing position results in the height to top of rail at 22" (56cm) above the bed base. This is some 4-5" higher than conventional grab rails / bed levers, and meets the particular need of maintaining access to the top rail / top corner of the grab rail as an occupant of an adjustable bed raises the backrest of the bed - to achieve a sitting up in bed position prior to getting out of bed - thereby, with the rising mattress, obscuring most of the side grab rail.
